Lest we repent for not playing the role at the turn of the history

(This article is posted by: Parmanand Pandey (General Secretary, Indian People’s Congress)

The country is standing at a cross road or the turning point of history.

The situation prevailing as on today can be compared to the days of freedom struggle, which was being led by Mahatma Gandhi. Those who did not participate during the freedom struggle and remained indifferent to the historic movement had to repent later for their indifference after the country got independence in 1947. They sulked with remorse that as to why they not actively participated for a cause, which could have immortalized them. Even if they did not have the due recognition from the society, at least they could have got the mental satisfaction of having contributed to the nation in their own way. Moreover, those who took the sides of the Britishers were full of guilt after the freedom of the country. They have been forgiven neither by the society nor by their own soul.

Almost the same and the similar situation have obtained today all over the country. The public is suffering from multitudinous problems like; poverty unemployment, back breaking inflation and illiteracy. Those who are corrupt; they are rolling in all comforts by making unaccounted money and plundering the country without any let or hindrance. They are engaging themselves in all sorts of activities that are detrimental to the society.

On the other hand, those who have the limited resources and leading the honest life have to undergo the untold sufferings and miseries. That is why; the need of the hour is that all right meaning and conscientious persons should rise to the occasion to help contribute the country to move in the right direction.

This is the period of elections for the Lok Sabha. In two months time the country will get a new government. There are number of people who are aspiring to become the Prime Minister of the country. In all likelihood, two persons can make it to the top. One is Narendra Modi, a strong contender and the other is Rahul Gandhi, a feeble fighter. We have already seen that under the regime of the Congress Party the country has gone bad to worse. Rahul Gandi and his Congress Party has been solely responsible for the mess under which this country has been sunk in. There is, thus, hardly any hope left in him or in his party.

The only hope, therefore, is in Narendra Modi who has the proven record of being a strong, visionary and development-oriented leader. His records of accomplishment as the Chief Minister of the Gujarat are the proof of his caliber, ideas and determinations.

This is the time that a person of his standing must be given the opportunity to be at the helms of affairs of the country. There is the current blowing across the country in his favour but the forces which are hostile to the progress of the country do not want the stability to come in the country. That is why; they are making all out efforts to stop the juggernaut of Narendra Modi. Many leaders have been propped-up by the anti-national forces to damage the chance of Narendra Modi.

Every body must have to be on the guard to identify and expose such persons. Some are working to harm Modi at the behest of enemy countries. Mr. Arvind Kejiriwal certainly appears to be one of them. Mayawati and Mulaym Singh have no interest in the nation building. Both are self-seekers. Other smaller parties have very narrow vision for the progress of the country. They are confined only to their own regions like those of Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, Navin Patnaik or Thackerays of Maharashtra. Nothing much can be expected from them.

Be that as it may, the time has come to extend whole hearted and all possible supports to install Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India for the sake of the strong, stable and development and forward looking India.

Let us hope that people will understand the issues in proper perspective to play a decisive role at this crucial and the turning point of the history of India.
